If you are an angler in Southern California, you know that the spring and summer bluefin tuna bite cannot be missed. SoCal captains and anglers are seeing success with the Butterfly Flat Fall jigs, and we want you to get out there! The Shimano Butterfly Flat Fall Jigs are a unique concept, exclusively designed for more BFT success.
The action of the flat fall is what makes it unique. Anglers can drop the jig down to the desired depth, then crank it up to another desired depth and free spool it back down. Cast the jig and let it fall while free spooling, wait for the bite, then jerk and repeat. Since the jig is balanced in the center, it will fall with a wobbled action in a horizontal position, keeping it in the strike zone longer and enticing hungry tuna. No other lure can match the action of a flat fall.
It also sinks very quickly. Captain Ryan Bostian of The San Diego notes that "Often times when our target species was 250-400 feet deep they were inaccessible on standard heavy lures. The flat fall is able to reach these depths without a problem."
